Yeah, penetration would be rape, molestation is generally fondling, and sexual harassment is any other form of touching, or any form of unwanted remark (which is why I try to be very, very careful what I say to people who don't know me)

Okay, so that removes K from the list, and maybe Shadazar, but still leaves you, Zinegata (oh yeah, and Crissa), and Roy.

The reason the legal definition limits it to "intimidation, bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors." is precisely because something being "unwanted" is not grounds for making anything a crime. Most women you ask out find that act unwanted (barring being named Johnny Depp). That doesn't make "Hey, want to go have sex." a crime. Or sexual harassment.

If all your friends have heard unwanted remarks of a sexual nature then, duh, everyone has.

I was mostly talking about actual molestation. Yeah, pretty much everyone can claim sexual harassment, especially since the law, as far as I know, defines it as unwanted contact or remarks regarding the body (ie, just saying "hey fatso" can be considered sexual harassment, under the law).

Seriously, seems like half my female friends have been molested, and the other half has still been sexually harassed, even if we go with a sane definition such as "repetitive, vociferous and abusive behaviour, whether physical or verbal" as all my female friends have seemed to have to endure bullshit cat calls from the ubiquitous, for sacramento anyway, crowd of "ill mannered 50 year old mexicans swilling beer."

Also, I'm fairly certain I've never assaulted, insulted, or harangued you in any kind of sexual way, kaelik. I may be wrong of course, for me it was most likely Tuesday.

so, yeah, this is definitely stuff. It didn't really make me angry, sad, or whatever, but it stymied me a bit.

So I was browsing 4chan yesterday, because I seriously get that bored, also horny. And I found a picture that was.... rather familiar.

Specifically, I found a pic that a friend had sent me, or rather she'd sent me a cropped version, but I was able to recognize positioning, and... a feature, shall we say.

Now, most women I know, I think, would want to know that a pic of their bits was floating around online. Not that much can be done, but knowing it's out there is good knowledge to have.

Nope, it made her day shitty, brought her down from a good mood she severely needed, and she wished I hadn't told her.

well, she's very glad her face isn't included (as I am with the ones I have out there), but all the same, it ruined her day for a bit and I felt like shit because I didn't really know what else I should do.

Why does doing the right thing constantly make me feel like shit?

The "right" thing for you is whatever makes you legitimately happy, preferably in both the short and long term; also preferably not fucking with whoeverelse's happiness. Unless you're a douchebag or a sociopath this should include making the people around you happy as well, and, unless they're douchebags or sociopaths, presumably making yourself miserable is going to have an overall negative impact on their happiness too.
